The 13th Dispute Resolution conference recently took place in Moscow at Ararat Park Hyatt hotel.

An international team of speakers included Moscow partner Alexei Panich and senior associate Alexander Khretinin; London partners Jeremy Garson and Laurence Elliott; Frankfurt partner Mathias Wittinghofer; Paris of counsel Géraldine Marteau and associate Elena Kormosh.

This year, the conference covered key trends and best practices in financial sector disputes and debt recovery. Russian clients gained insight into the possibilities of challenging derivative transactions under Russian law, as well as the hardships of debt recovery litigation in Russia faced by foreign banks. They were also guided through particular international debt recovery aspects, such as freezing bank accounts outside of Russia; arbitrating financial services disputes; key issues of financial disputes and debt recovery in France, and best practices of using UK schemes of arrangements both for UK and non-UK companies.

The half-day conference gathered guests together from across different industries. Over 50 attendees represented pharma, food, energy and mining, chemicals, and banks to name a few.

The conference was followed by a cocktail reception, providing a valuable opportunity for everyone to network and discuss the most acute issues on today's agenda.

Alexei Panich commented: "We were delighted to host our annual dispute resolution conference in Moscow, further developing our cross-border dispute resolution collaboration. The conference helped many of our clients stay tuned for the key trends in debt recovery and dispute resolution and let us show case the breadth and depth of our firm's experience and offering".
