Experience

Brittany’s practice focuses on litigating a wide variety of international commercial disputes, advising U.S. and non-U.S. corporations regarding compliance with U.S. sanctions regulations, and advising clients with respect to cross-border government investigations. Brittany also has experience related to domestic banking regulatory and compliance matters.

Brittany’s experience includes advising:

  • the successful defense (before the New York State Appellate Division) of a sexual discrimination and hostile work environment claim on behalf of a financial sector client*
  • obtaining pre-discovery dismissal on behalf of a prominent New York City animal hospital charged with retaliation under the New York Labor Law*
  • successfully opposed an attempt to enjoin the sale of an automotive dealership in New York federal court*
  • the successful defense of many corporate defendants charged with discrimination, harassment, and/or retaliation before the federal and state courts, the EEOC, the New York State Division of Human Rights, the New York City Commission on Human Rights, and the New York State Division of Labor Standards*
  • advising Publicis Groupe on the US employment diligence of its acquisition of Australian headquartered retailer media platform provider CitrusAd
  • advising a UK-based developer on the US employment implications of a US $1 billion merger with French multinational hospital company Accor
  • recent litigation victories for financial services clients including: dismissal (including oral argument) on former employee's claim seeking payment of bonus/severance payments; summary judgment on former employee’s ADA claim, and dismissal of former employee’s OSHA retaliation claim

Background

Brittany obtained her J.D., with honors, from The George Washington University Law School, where she was a finalist in the Van Vleck Constitutional Law Moot Court competition and a member of the Federal Circuit Bar Journal. She earned her B.A. cum laude in International Affairs from George Washington University, during which time, she interned on Capitol Hill. Brittany also spent a semester at Universidad Católica Argentina as an exchange student.

Prior to joining Herbert Smith Freehills, Brittany was an associate at a large law firm in Atlanta, Georgia.  Brittany is based in New York. She is proficient in Spanish.
