Sarah co-leads the Alternative Legal Services practice in Australia.

Working within a global network that spans London, Belfast, Shanghai, Johannesburg, New York and Australia, Sarah leads an experienced and growing team of qualified lawyers, legal analysts and technologists based in Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney to deliver a seamless, efficient and more cost-effective legal service.

Sarah has worked with a range of clients across all industry sectors on large-scale corporate transactions. Sarah applies her extensive transactional experience, together with her in-depth understanding of legal process and technology, to streamline and afford clients greater insights on data intensive legal review exercises and to develop innovative solutions in the context of M&A transactions, high volume commercial contracting exercises and contract lifecycle management.

Sarah joined Herbert Smith Freehills as a Senior Associate in 2010, having worked at a magic circle firm in Hong Kong for 3 years and at another leading Australian law firm for 4 years before that.  In 2018, Sarah assumed the role of Strategic Projects Lead for the Corporate practice group in Australia and was responsible for driving and implementing strategic initiatives to achieve enhanced efficiencies and impact for our clients.  Sarah stepped into the role of Associate Director, Alternative Legal Services, Australia in 2020.

Sarah has advised major corporations, private equity firms and fund managers on a diverse range of matters including domestic and cross-border acquisitions and disposals, equity capital raisings, restructures, shareholder arrangements, corporate governance and general corporate and commercial matters.

Sarah applies her extensive transactional experience, together with her in-depth understanding of legal process and technology, to work collaboratively with clients who are looking to innovate and leverage streamlined, value-driven legal services to achieve their business outcomes.

Background

Sarah holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Melbourne.

Sarah is admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Victoria.
