Haig Tyler is a consultant and former Chief Technology Officer at Herbert Smith Freehills. 

Haig is an experienced senior IT executive, with experience in IT transformation, outsourcing/ insourcing and offshore/near-shore delivery. His areas of expertise cover most aspects of operational management and leadership, Agile and waterfall systems development and testing, business engagement and analysis, as well as strategy and architecture.

Background

Haig joined Herbert Smith in April 2012. Herbert Smith Freehills announced their merger on 28 June 2012 and the merged firm was launched on 1 October 2012. Haig led integrating the systems following the merger and more recently delivered a suite of integrated applications supporting our global Finance & Practice Management capability.

Following a number of senior IT roles at Bupa, including interim Group CIO during 2009.  Prior to that Haig spent time at Cable & Wireless working in various IT director roles, as well as a sales director role.

During his time at Bupa, Haig led the move to Agile systems development, leading to faster and more value-focused delivery.

An early career in the Royal Air Force as an engineering officer was followed by a number of years as a consultant at Deloitte.
