Rachel is an employment lawyer with a focus on industrial strategy, enterprise bargaining and workplace disputes. 

Rachel advises on industrial relations strategy in the mining, maritime and oil and gas industries. She assists with enterprise bargaining and industrial disputes, including by appearing in the Fair Work Commission and Australian courts. Rachel also advises on and appears in relation to employment matters, including post-employment restraints, transfer of business and equal opportunity and discrimination.

Rachel appears on behalf of her clients in the Fair Work Commission and the WA Industrial Relations Commission in relation to enterprise bargaining, industrial action, disputes under industrial instruments, right of entry and unfair dismissal. She is an experienced employment law litigator in the Federal Court and Supreme Court of Western Australia.  This experience compliments Rachel’s strategy work, in which she advises key players in the resources industry in relation to their IR strategy.

 

Background

Rachel grew up in Western Australia and had a career back stage in the theatre prior to becoming a lawyer. She has also completed a Bachelor in Behavioural Science. In her spare time Rachel remains actively involved in the arts industry in Western Australia.

  • regularly advised Citic Pacific Mining on its industrial relations strategy for the Sino Iron Project, including its enterprise bargaining for its operations and port employees
  • participated in and advised upon enterprise bargaining in areas in the maritime industry which are key to the supply chain in Australia’s mining industry
  • advised upon IR and employment matters arising from automation in the mining industry
  • appeared on behalf of clients in the Fair Work Commission, in relation to industrial disputes and unfair dismissal claims
