Iñigo es asociado senior en la práctica de derecho financiero en la oficina de Madrid.

He generally advises lenders (banks, financial buyers, ECAs, etc.), private equity funds and sponsors, as well as lists and non-listed companies, on all type of structured finance transactions, particularly focused on leveraged acquisition finance, energy and infrastructure finance and corporate finance transactions. He has also experience in advising a wide range of clients on debt capital markets transactions such as project bonds and private placements.

During his career, he has been involved in some of the most relevant structured finance transactions in the Spanish market within the energy, infra and transports' sectors, as well as in the most of the renowned leverage finance deals. Moreover, given the conditions of the market during the last years, he has significant experience in advising in the so-called "secondary market transactions", including the identification of potential issues as well as the legal structuring and the design of the strategy of such transactions.

Background

He has a degree in Law by Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (Spain) and a master's degree in business corporate law (LLM) by Centro de Estudios Garrigues (Spain). He speaks Spanish and English. He is a member of the Ilustre Colegio de la Abogacía de Madrid (ICAM – Madrid Bar Association)

Prior to joining the firm, he worked at another international law firm in Madrid.

  • Banco Santander on a financing, granted to a company controlled by Investindustrial for, among other purposes, the acquisition of Virospack, a leading developer and manufacturer of droppers for the beauty industry
  • ING Bank, BBVA, NIBC Financing and Banco Santander on the corporate financing granted to certain companies controlled by Asterion Industrial Partners in the context of a group of companies operating in the TMT sector
  • a syndicate of banks on the €500 million green backed term facility agreement granted to a subsidiary of a Spanish energy company, for the purposes of indirectly financing the construction and commissioning of certain green energy projects across Europe in accordance with the European Green Taxonomy and the company's Framework for Green Financing. The agreement was governed by Spanish law and is secured by a parent company guarantee of Iberdrola and a green investment policy issued by CESCE (ie., the Spanish ECA) 
  • the sponsors on the refinancing for a PPP project related to a concession granted to Superficiaria CP Mas d’Enric for construction, start-up and operation of a prison located in the municipality of El Catllar, Tarragona (Spain)
