The Law Office of Mohammed Altammami (LOMAT), in association with Herbert Smith Freehills, has announced the hire of Joza Al-Rasheed to join the firm as a Corporate partner in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Joza, who is qualified to practise law in Saudi Arabia and New York, has extensive experience in M&A, anti-trust and capital markets matters from her time at White & Case and Baker McKenzie.

Working in private practice, Joza advised international clients and government institutions on their corporate and regulatory matters. She has also worked in-house at Air Products, a global industrial gases company, as senior legal counsel. Joza is a member of the first class of Saudi female law students.

Joza has longstanding relationships with a range of private and government bodies, which complement the firm's strategic focus on Energy, Infrastructure and Projects in the Middle East.

Mohammed Altammami, the Managing Partner of LOMAT, commented:

"I look forward to working closely with Joza to build on the firm's strong track record of advising clients on high-profile, complex transactions and disputes for their in-bound and out-bound commercial activities."

Stuart Paterson, Head of Middle East at Herbert Smith Freehills, added:

"We continue to invest in our Middle East platform and people as part of our regional strategy, and our aim to be the leading law firm for Energy, Infrastructure and Projects in the region. I am looking forward to working closely with Joza, alongside Mohammed, to continue to support clients in these areas."

Herbert Smith Freehills has recently announced the promotions of Chris Walters (Corporate/M&A) and Phil Hanson (Projects and Project Finance) to the partnership, and Sean Whitham (Disputes) to Of Counsel in the Middle East. Last year, the firm also recruited Christopher Cross and Sarosh Mewawalla to join its Projects, Project Finance and Global Energy & Infrastructure groups in the region.
