Margaret specialises in major projects and construction law.

She has more than 16 years’ experience in construction and major infrastructure projects and developments in the private and public sectors, both greenfield and brownfield, including property development, health, resources, energy, oil and gas, public infrastructure and financing.

Background

Margaret joined us as special counsel in 2009. She holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Queensland and is admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland.

Margaret is a member of the National Association of Women in Construction.

Experience & expertise

Selected matters

  • Santos on contracts related to the operation of its Gladstone liquefied natural gas project, including the upstream engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract; the pipeline EPC contract; and leading contract negotiations in Brisbane and Europe with two international contractors on their bids for the pipeline EPC contract
  • QIC Global Real Estate on the proposed major redevelopment of its two shopping centres in Toowoomba, Queensland
  • the Abigroup and Golding Contractors joint venture as contractors on one of the major civil contracts packages for the Wiggins Island Coal Export Terminal project in Queensland
  • the Queensland Government on the development of the Sunshine Coast University Hospital project, including the delivery of the public hospital via a public private partnership and the private collocated hospital
