At Herbert Smith Freehills diversity and inclusion is ingrained in our culture – from the most strategic to the everyday decisions that drive our business and the advice that we provide our clients.
Achieving our vision to be the leading international law firm for diversity and inclusion is everyone’s responsibility. This means we expect our people to engage with and support D&I initiatives and behave in a way which is inclusive, considerate and respectful as outlined in our Dignity at Work Policy.
Creating accountability for progress within the most senior leadership structures of the firm ensures that diversity and inclusion remains a strategic priority and that we create a consistent and inclusive experience for our people.
Our Director of Culture & Inclusion is a member of our People & Culture Advisory Board (PCAB), which is chaired by our CEO and our Chief People Officer. The Board is comprised of senior leaders from across the firm who are passionate about creating a more diverse, inclusive and high performing culture.
The PCAB advises our Global Executive on key diversity and inclusion topics such as our gender targets, ethnicity targets and our global D&I programmes. The Global Executive is accountable to the partnership for the implementation of our Leading for Inclusion strategy. Furthermore, our Regional Executives are accountable for delivering regional initiatives and progress on diversity and inclusion, with a particular focus on ensuring greater diversity in our partnership pipeline as well as in senior leadership roles more generally.
