We held the first ever Commercial Law Summit in Sierra Leone. The purpose of the Summit was to reinforce the importance of the rule of law in driving responsible inward investment. Mr Justice Blair described the Summit as "a notable example of pro bono work by a leading international law firm". His Honour David Mackie QC also commented that the firm's work was "outstanding".

Previous secondee Gavin Davies, who founded the pro bono initiative, said: "It was a privilege for the firm, and for all of us from Herbert Smith Freehills…It was a unique opportunity to bring together the Sierra Leone legal and business communities, as well as Government and development bodies".
