Robert is head of the firm’s trusts litigation practice and co-head of the civil fraud, asset tracing, corporate crime and investigations practice. Widely acknowledged as one of the United Kingdom’s most highly respected lawyers in fraud and trusts litigation, he is described as ‘a legend and a genius’ in Chambers UK 2011. Robert has conducted some of the largest fraud cases to come before the English courts and is the only civil fraud lawyer listed as a starred individual in Chambers UK 2010.
Robert has extensive international experience and contacts, and is regularly called on to act in proceedings in all major offshore jurisdictions. His areas of focus include fraud and trust litigations, including claims involving bribery, and secret commissions to commodities fraud and advance-fee frauds.
Robert frequently works with the bar but is also an experienced solicitor advocate, particularly in areas relating to freezing injunctions, proprietary injunctions, Norwich Pharmacal orders, and search orders. He has maintained a keen interest in psychology since graduating in the subject in 1980 and lectures on the psychology of fraud disputes and negotiation.
