Gavin handles a range of international civil disputes and regulatory matters.
Gavin has particular experience acting for funds and financial institutions in advisory and litigation work concerning asset recovery, contractual duties, enforcement of security, joint venture arrangements, mis-selling and regulatory enquiries. Many of his civil cases have involved issues of private international law. Gavin also regularly advises funds and financial institutions in relation to investigations and proceedings carried out by securities regulators in Hong Kong, including the SFC, HKMA, CCB and ICAC, and in the wider Asia region.
As noted in Chambers Asia 2012, Gavin’s clients have described him as ‘calm and commanding; one of the best I’ve seen’. Gavin was admitted in Hong Kong in 2000 and in England and Wales in 1994.
