Herbert Smith Freehills has promoted 42 lawyers to senior associate positions in Australia.
Effective July 1, the promotions stretch across the Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth offices and span the corporate, disputes, finance, real estate, projects and employment practices.
Herbert Smith Freehills’ Regional Managing Partner, Asia and Australia, Sue Gilchrist said the promotions recognised each lawyer’s leadership capabilities as well as their outstanding legal skills and client relationship focus.
“I’m delighted to see the promotion of 42 of our lawyers to senior associate positions, in recognition of their exceptional talent and experience. In stepping up into these senior roles our new senior associates will further enhance our ability to develop and deliver client-focused solutions.
“We congratulate all of these new senior associates on their success and wish them all the best for their careers.”
Of the 42 new senior associates, more than 70% are female, reflecting the firm’s commitment to attract, promote and retain female talent.
The promotions follow the appointment of 20 lawyers to partnership across the global network in May. Half of the new partners are from the Asia Pacific region, including six from Australia.
