Herbert Smith Freehills has launched a 'Mental Health Mentor' programme in the firm's London and Belfast offices – the first law firm to offer such a service to staff. Providing access to a network of over 60 individuals, the programme offers advice, support and mentoring to staff on mental health issues. The mentors have all volunteered for the role and have received basic training in workplace stress, common mental health problems, stigma and wellbeing. In addition to providing advice and support, they will be able to direct individuals to appropriate support services and will also have a role promoting wellbeing initiatives within the firm.
